Refreshing Shared Dashboard by Users
Hello friends,
I published a desktop model to the service, pinned the report to a new dashboard and shared it with a user.
My dataset has a connection to a simple Excel file in OneDrive for Business. The same user makes frequent changes to this Excel file.
How does my user refreshes the dashboard when he is done editing the Excel file?
"Refresh Dashboard Tiles" in Dashboard Actions Menue doesn't refresh the data.
I don't see the options that my user sees so I cannot guide him.
Please help - what is the simpliest way for him to update the data?
Thanks
MIchael

Hi Anonymous,
As IT guy view, you could check
- Refresh history of dataset/report
- Model/data schedule refresh of tiles (by click top right of tiles and choose Tile Details->Technical Details)
- To be awareness that there would be a lag/delay of tiles from 15'-1hour after your dataset refreshed even though you are using OneDrive Business
- Could guide for your end-users manually refresh dataset/report (right click report name or dataset name -> choose Refresh Now) -> refresh dashboard (in the top right of menu dashboard).
- There is confusing in reply of Baskar cause someone could use gateway for multiple files in OneDrive Business as Web Connector, so there is a little relative in that concern.

Dear friend,
Do u know about Gateway in Power BI ?
if no learn that.
If u know u have to create one new connection to get latest data.
Let me know any help.
- AnonymousNot applicableBaskarThe gateway is irrelevant here. The data is on OneDrive for Business. No need for a gateway

Every on can refresh the dashboard tile. But the shared dashboard consumer can't refresh the dataset feeding this dashboard. Only dashboard creator can refresh the dataset. Please see: Data refresh in Power BI.
