Power BI Security - Data in Process

Hello Power BI community,

I am having a question regarding Power BI Security. Based on security whitepaper, data is secured at rest and in transit, but what about Data in Process ?

In the whitepaper, there is mention of whether bases on DirectQuery or not, data is loaded into the AS data as unencrypted in order to be access by the Data Role and is stored in the memory until it is no longer be needed by the dataset. Does that mean that the data is store unencrypted in the memory and can be directly accessed in the memory by a something else than Power BI ?

Thanks in advance

    Hi marcodata ,

Yes, for the data in process, the data is stored in memory as unencrypted in order to respond to the queries more quickly. The queries may be generated by clicking refresh , interaction or some other data changes.

    Best Regards,

    Amy
