Power Bi refresh problems
Good morning,
I ask Microsoft experts for help in SQL Server on Azure and Power BI.
I work for the "Corte dei conti" Public Sector client in Italy, and for about 5 years there have been Power Bi reports that are refreshed every morning by reading the data from views on a SQL SERVER on AZURE DB (if necessary I can give the connection string to the DB).
They have always been scheduled between 5 and 9 in the morning and have always taken a constant time to refresh (between 5 minutes and 30 minutes). From Monday, with the same data, views and database conditions (always S6 pricing) the performance of report refreshes,
caused I believe by a worsening of the response to the execution of queries in the views, they have worsened, taking up to 3 hours and many even in timeout.
Do any of you know if there has been a disruption to the performance of the Sql Server DBs?

I would add that reports that refresh starting up to 5 AM Rome time (Italy) are fine. Those whose refresh starts at 06 AM or 07 AM etc go very long. Could it be due to the daylight saving time change in America last Sunday??

1.It may be helpful to view and apply some best practices to optimize SQL Server performance on Azure. This includes optimizing applications, tuning indexes and queries for efficiency, and monitoring CPU and IO resources.
2.Exploring asynchronous refresh options or adjusting the refresh rate if you're using Power BI Premium could provide some relief.
3.Try to enable automatic optimization for the Azure SQL database.
