POWER BI ISSUE

HELLO,

THE ADMIN OF MY ACCOUNT WAS REMOVED AS THEY ARE NO LONGER WTIH THE COMPANY. WHEN THE REPORT GOES TO REFRESH, I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE STATING THAT THE ADMIN PASSWORD/INFO HAS CHANGED, AND AN AUTH TOKEN NEEDS TO BE REFRESHED IN ORDER TO WORK. RIGHT NOW THE REPORT REFRESHES, BUT GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE SO I'M UNABLE TO SEE THE UPDATED REPORT AS I TYPICALLY DO EACH DAY. CAN SOMEONE WALK ME THROGH IF POSSIBLE BEING ABLE TO FIX THIS? I AM NOT AN EXPERT AT THIS PROGRAM, IF THERE'S A WAY TO SIMPLY CHANGE THE NAME TO MINE AS I DO HAVE ACCESS OR ANOTHER WAY TO SIMPLY FIX, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE. THANKS!

  • Go to the workspace, identify the semantic model for your report, and then click the big green "Take over"  button.

      Hello,

I tried your method but do not have a takeover button to click when I go there.

        Hi darmstrong0608 ,

As lbendlin stated there should be a green "Take Over" button in the semantic model settings.  If that is not there , is the name for the owner of that model already you?  If you are the owner already, make sure that our userid is on the data source (look under the Data Gateway and Credentials section in the semantic model.

  • I was receivng an error message for AUTH token needs to be refershed after the ADMIN on the account left my company, through some help here i was able to do a takeover and change this to my name, i was hopeful that would fix it but now i have a new error message . Now i have run into a new issue, it now shows this error. Any idea on how to fix? please keep in mind i have very limited knowledge base of this lol, the person who set this up is no longer with my company and i'm just trying to continue utilizing is at we were. no changes have been made to any files or anything, except for that person being removed, and i did the takeover. My error message changed from Autho token needs to be refreshed, to the below:

Expression.Error: the key didn't match any rows in the table. The exception was raised by the IDBCOMMAND interface.

      Hey darmstrong0608 ,

after taking over the ownership. What can you see in these sections?

Are you able to use the gateway connections (within the Gateway section)?
Are the credentials for your sources valid for you?

      Regards

        Hello,

when i go into gateway connections, it says that i don't need a gateway for this semantic model because it's data sources are in the cloud.

when i go to data source credentials, it shows sharepoint and edit credentials, as well as a show in lineage view option. the credentials for the sources are valid for me, when i clicked edit credentials, it says sharepoint data was saved.

      Hi darmstrong0608 ,

Most of the time updating the credentials and authentication type to Oauth2 in datasource credentials will fix the issue.

      Thanks,

      Sai Teja
