Power BI GitHub integration bug
It has been like more than a month, I am getting uodates from GitHub without any reason. I have not touched my GitHub repo where we have synced our favric items. I am not able to make new commits to the GitHub,.
Hi shahhaider902,
Thank you for sharing more details about your setup. I understand that manually fixing this across 50+ workspaces is not a feasible solution, the most efficient approach is to automate the Git cleanup process using GitHub’s REST API.
Use the GitHub REST API to programmatically delete the problematic folders instead of doing it manually. Automate the commit process after deletion to ensure changes are reflected in Fabric without manual intervention.Reference: GitHub API - Delete a file
This approach will save significant time by allowing you to clean up multiple workspaces in bulk rather than manually deleting folders one by one.
I trust this information proves useful. If it does, kindly "Accept it as a solution" and give it a 'Kudos' to help others locate it easily.
Thank you.

Hi shahhaider902,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric community forum.Based on the information you've provided, it seems there are some updates and conflicts related to the Git integration. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- The notification indicates that there are 4 conflicts that need to be resolved to update the workspace. Please try resolving these conflicts first.
- The recent update introduced folder support in Git, which might have resulted in new changes that you did not initiate. This could be the reason for the unexpected updates. For detailed information, you can refer to the official Microsoft documentation: Get started with Git integration - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn
If the issue persists, try disconnecting the workspace from GitHub and reconnecting it. Use a different root folder from the previous connection to see if that helps.
Thank you Deku for sharing your valuable insights. If this information is helpful, please Accept it as a solution and give a "kudos" to assist other community members in resolving similar issues more efficiently.

Hi Deku,
Thanks for giving reference to this LinkedIn post. I already went through this post and Ben's post on LinkedIn. Actually, I have around 50 workspaces with hundreds of reports and datasets. It would take me atleast 2 days to correct everything. Which I don't want. The fix I am currently doing is just delete the folder in GitHub with a commit, reconnect workspace and then sync the items. But it still takes lot of time. I did it for 5 workspaces and then stopped because it would be wastage of time. I am looking for a better time saving solution.
