Paste multiple values in the "Input Slicer" not working
- 1 month ago
Hi tamiribas,
Mohamed's point about checking Accept multiple values is a good first check. There is one documentation nuance here that may explain why this is difficult to pin down.
Microsoft's current Input slicer documentation applies to both Desktop and the Power BI Service. It documents multiple filter values and also says you can paste into the active input box using Ctrl+V.
What isn't clearly documented is whether a multiline clipboard value must be parsed into multiple Input-slicer entries identically in Desktop and Service.
Microsoft's broader slicer paste documentation currently calls out the multi-value paste-selection feature specifically for the Button slicer and List slicer, rather than the Input slicer.
So if Accept multiple values is enabled, you're using Ctrl+V with the Input box focused, and the exact same PBIX works in Desktop but not after publishing, I would be inclined to treat that as a Desktop/Service parity issue rather than keep changing the report or model.
I couldn't find a currently published Microsoft known issue for this exact behaviour.
If you need a documented workaround in the meantime, the List slicer and Button slicer both explicitly support pasting newline-separated values to select multiple items.
If possible, I'd also capture the Power BI Desktop version, browser, and whether Ctrl+V produces one combined value or simply does nothing in the Service. That would make the repro much clearer for Support.
