On-premise gateway data source privacy settings changing randomly

Is it possible for the privacy settings on on-premise gateway data sources to change (other than manually by a gateway admin).

We have one particular data source that changes from "public" to "none" once or twice a week, causing a number of other data sets to fail.

I've disabled a number of gateway admins just in case.

But I wanted to know if there was some automated process that can switch the privacy to "none".
