New Sharepoint Updated File Picker - Bugs

Hi All,

Per the Jan-2025 blog, I have identify a couple of bugs with the preview experience:

(1) SaveAs File Selection Bug:

I reported this earlier on Reddit.  In other Office products, when you click SaveAs the document name is pre-populated with the existing filename; however, the field is blank when choosing SaveAs in Power BI Desktop preview.  In Office this would be okay, because you could choose the existing file or another file to get its name before adding "V2" etc on the end.  Unfortunately, in Jan 2025 preview release there is a bug that will open the selected PBIX file in a new Power BI Desktop session.  So I have to slowly re-type the filename with the additional V2.

(2) SharePoint Site Document Libraries Missing Bug:

In the current Power BI Desktop version, the SharePoint/OneDrive open has the ability to change between Document libraries. In the example below you can see the different Document Libraries in the SharePoint site (note you can only follow the Site not individual libraries).

In the Preview Feature, the useful Libraries switching feature is missing.  This appears to be bug, because in Office the "Uparrow" goes from "Documents" to "Site Libraries" to "SharePoint Site".  The Power BI Desktop preview jumps straight to "SharePoint Sites"

    Hi Anonymous ,

Thanks for contacting the Microsoft community.  We've checked the Save As functionality in Power BI Desktop, and the document name fills in automatically when you select Save As. If this isn't happening for you, make sure you're using the latest version of Power BI Desktop and check for any file permission issues.

I've tried this in Power BI Desktop and can't see the document library selection while connecting to SharePoint either. It looks like this issue keeps happening, so it's probably a bug in the preview version.

We suggest submitting this issue on the Power BI Ideas forum. Microsoft carefully reviews user feedback, and popular requests are considered for future updates.

Thanks V-yubandi-msft for responding.  Yes this is the public preview feature.  I have added feedback in the Power BI Community forum per the Jan-2025 blog.  I believe the Power BI Product Owner for this feature is aware of this feedback.
