Is the Timeout Value for the automatic refresh customizable?

I got an error in my automatic refresh:

Failed: There was an error when processing the data in dataset.

Data source error: The XML for Analysis request time out before it was completed. Timeout value: 7200 sec. Table: [Table Name]

This happens relatively frequently and I'm working on the root of the problem, but was wondering if I can lower the Timeout value from 2 hours to something else - say 15 minutes? This would make my life a little easier!

Best regards,

Willie

  • Hi there

What I would suggest is to look at why the data is taking so long to be returned before the timeout?

As far as I know there is no way to change the timeout setting in the Power BI Service.

You might be able to change the timeout setting on the On-Premise Data gateway.

Thank you! I will look into the gateway settings just in case I can find a setting in there.
