Google sheet connection issue from within powerbi
Hi
since this mornign we experience issues in connecting powerbi to google sheets.
Existing connections that always work fine are now suddenly giving an error like this: DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from
I could get it resolved by changing the sharing security of the sheet to 'everyone with the link can open the sheet' &
by reworking the URL in format :
(possibly one of the two of these workaround did already the trick ...?)

He ye kurt2,
Thanks Metworks and bonancio for confirming it’s a known issue. kurt2 looks like this is on Google/Power BI’s end, so the official advice is to wait until it’s fixed.
If you need an interim solution, here are a few workarounds you can try.
Download as CSV – Export your Google Sheet and load into Power BI manually.
Publish to Web (CSV link) – Share as a public CSV and connect via Web connector.
Google Sheets API – Use the Sheets API with a service account to fetch data.
Automate Export – Use a script to push the sheet as CSV to OneDrive/SharePoint and link Power BI there. Not perfect, but these options can keep your reports running until the connector issue is resolved.

Hi kurt2 ,
Just checking in, did you get a chance to try any of the interim workarounds CSV export, publish to web, API, or script-based automation? It’d be great to know if one of these helped keep your reports running while the connector issue gets fixed.
