Get real-time data PowerBI

Hi

I would like to know information on how to display some data in real time on the dahsboard POWERBI. Is there any method to do it?
Thanks

  • Hi, Anonymous

If the data is not required to be strictly real-time, then you can use the direct query mode to connect to your database.

If you want the data to be strictly real time, in addition to what Greg_Deckler  mentioned above, maybe you can also try using automatic page refresh, but this requires you to have Premium capacity support.

When you monitor critical events, it's important for data to be refreshed as soon as the source data is updated. For example, in the manufacturing industry, it's critical to know when a machine is malfunctioning or is close to malfunctioning. If you're monitoring signals like social media sentiment, you want to know about sudden changes as soon as they happen.

Anonymous Yes, you would add a dashboard tile in the Service, there is a specific tile for streaming data.

      Hi, thanks for your response.
I want to show in real time some data that comes from a SQL database, is this option the only one? Is there another way to display data in real time?

      Thanks

To perform this technique of data collection in real time, do I need a powerBI Pro or PowerBI Premium license?

Anonymous DirectQuery does not require Premium. Automatic page refresh is limited to a mimimum of 30 minutes without Premium.
