Gateway Errorcode; DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode
I am trying to add an Excel file to my gateway on my Power BI Service.
Unfortunately I receive the following errorcode: DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode.
This error code is not described on the troubleshootingpage being:
https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-gateway-onprem-tshoot/.
Can someone help me?

In the gateway datasource, you add one excel file or multiple files? In the excel filter, if there is any other third-part datasource connection? What's your detailed error message? Please share more information for further analysis.

You need to make sure you install the MySQL connector as identified on the follow prerequisites documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-data-source-prerequisites

I logged in at my PowerBI Service and selected Gateway maintenance. All of a sudden I have a new error message from my gateway, that I did not have two days ago. The message is as follows:

I'm getting the DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode error too. We just installed the gateway today. I'm able to connect to "web" data without issue. But if I try to connect to an xls, xlsx, or csv I get the error below. I read a semi-related post somewhere that pointed me towards..

I installed the 64 bit version of the Access driver. I didn't think this would fix the problem since i'm having the same issue regardless of the format (xls, xlsx, csv)....it didn't have any effect.
Other than that I'm really out of ideas of what to try since this conversation is the only mention of DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode that google was able to find.

Edit - I fixed it, but I can't say I like the fix.
1. The file must be on the gateway server. Mapped drives or UNC paths don't work.
2. I must run Power BI desktop from the gateway server. The file path in the query must match the file path in the Gateway/data source settings.
This worked for me. The Gateway couldn't find the file when it was on our network or on my OneDrive (which mapped from the Gateway server's C: drive). When I created a new folder on the machine where the Gateway is running and pointed to that, it worked.

I have the same issue when trying to add a gateway.Had the issue with ODBC - corrupt memory -but seems to be fixed now with the dec update - thanks for that
But now i am not able to get my odbc connection work.
Any ideas so far?

I get the same error with an ODBC connection. I have several gateways loaded on my service, and one has been setup with the same ODBC connection (on a different PC) and that works fine... I think this is an issue with the current build of the Gateway software installed on the source computer (the one workign in my case is an older build). Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon!

Também continuo com o problema no gateway, a conexão do power bi desktop parece estar corrigida, porém o "DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode" na configuração da fonte de dados ainda continua, tanto no banco Firebird como no Postgres.
Alguma posição quanto a essa inconsistência? Obrigado.

I get the same error also with an ODBC connection. I think it is Gateway software version related and that there may be an issue with the most current build. I have another gateway with the same connection on a different pc (but an earlier build), and there is no problem. Hoefully they'll fix this soon!
We are having the same issue here.
I have just updated my On-premises Gateway on our server and this error started occuring.
Have you guys opened a ticket somewhere?

I'm studing for getting the PBI certification (exam 70-778) and i'm currently studing the chapter about on premises data connection.

If those are the premises to study for an exam based on a defective product, i cannot imagine how fair the exam could be.

El error DMTS_PublishDatasourceToClusterErrorCode hace referencia a tener un problema con el origen de los datos. grabar que cuando el gatwaye se esta ejecutando todo su acceso esta delimitado por el acceso que tiene la maquina misma en la red.
se soluciona buscando el parche correcto encontrando el archivo que quieres cargar.
Un problema habitual es crear el archivo pbix. en una computadora y tener en ella el archivo de Excel luego tendras que mover todo a tu servidor de PBI con el gateway.El problema me apareció por primera vez tratando de conectar archivos a una carpeta en dropbox mi pc no se llamava igual que el servidor y el parche estaba mal ingestado en el pbix.
ahora trato de escalar en la red. esto quiere decir que las credenciales que coloco en mi puerta de enlace tienen acceso a un archivo que se encuentra en una pc diferente pero el parche tiene la dirección de sus compartidos. el parche correctamente lo abre el buscador de archivos pero no el gateway de power bi. ayuda.
I have the same issue but I installed gateway (Personal). I noticed once you have a file type(Excel) data source, you will need to use the Gateway personal instead of the standard gateway, I don know why, but for now it is an alternative resolution for me.
