Failed to refresh semantic models

Hello, since yesterday evening every of my semantic models scheduled to refresh does not refresh anymore..

All of them return this error

Last refresh failed: 31/07/2025 14:46:22
The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support.Hide details

I also checked the gateway, she is working fine and is on. I completly uninstalled and reinstalled the gateway just to make sure but it does not solve my problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi RomainBSNP
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

Microsoft Fabric services in the France Central region have largely been restored following the Azure Storage-related incident. As of August 3rd, 10:00 AM UTC+2 (Central European Summer Time), the majority of functionality is back online, with customers able to access the services.
If you notice that data has not refreshed, you can trigger a manual refresh to resume processing.

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
    Thank you

Hello, this issue is related to an ongoing incident in the France Central region. You’re likely seeing the following error: ServerError_Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Azure.ModelOperator.ModelOperatorOperationFailedExceptio

I saw this incident, but isn't there anything to do ? We just have to wait until it is solved I guess ?

Thanks for the really quick answer !

      Hi RomainBSNP

Sometimes, even if the gateway is working fine, expired or invalid credentials can cause refresh failures with internal service errors.

I suggest you go to your dataset settings, select Data source credentials, re-enter or update the credentials, and then try refreshing manually.

Did it work? 👍 A kudos would be appreciated

I mean, aside from the workaround of publishing via another tenant in a different region, I guess we just need to wait until the issue is fully resolved.
