Export to PPT issue
Hi,
I and other users of a PBI report are facing a peculiar problem while exporting a report to PPT or PDF version.
As far as I understand, we can download a copy of the report with any slicers or filters applied to it in the current state. However, my users reported that when they use this option, they are getting the full version of the report downloaded (regardless of RLS).
Can anyone help me understand how to rectify this?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Mahesh

Hi Anonymous ,
Please tell your users to do the following:
1.Please make sure that users are exporting the PDFs and PPTs here.
2. When you click on PDF or Embed an image, the following window will pop up:
If your users want to download one page that they use the slicers and filters, please make sure that they choose the Current Values and check the Only export current page.
Doing so exports the current-page report that you filtered instead of the full report.
If you still have questions about this section, you can refer to the following documentation, which should be able to answer your questions.Export entire reports to PowerPoint - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
Regarding the problem that RLS does not work, if your RLS is set in POWER BI Desktop, you need to add members to the service, and if you do not add it, it may invalidate the RLS. And in the workspace, RLS only works for users with viewer permissions. It is not valid for contributor, member, and admin users.
For more questions about RLS, please refer to the documentation below: Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs, where you can find your answer.

Hello v-yinliw-msft ,
Thank you for the response.
I've tried that before posting the issue here. I've tried this by myself using the above-mentioned way and yet, it gives all the values (even when the filter/slicer is applied).
I've tried testing as one of the RLS that is set on the report. While viewing, the report is filtered based on the role, however, while exporting the issue remained the same (complete data is being exported without any filters applied).

Mahesh

Hi Anonymous ,
To receive your question, please check your permissions as follows:
1.Permissions of users who are trying to export reports using the workspace.
2.The user's permissions on the dataset corresponding to this report.
I want to reconfirm with you how your copy of the report was generated, via save a copy or share?
