Hi Tech02,
Building on BhavinVyas3003 and v-dineshya's solutions - the integration user pattern is exactly the right approach for stable scheduled refresh. One thing to be aware of when setting this up manually: you need to manage the Salesforce-side configuration (API access, profile, permission sets, folder sharing) separately from the Power BI side, and any future SF schema or permission changes have to be re-coordinated.
If you'd rather have the connector handle Salesforce-side setup more declaratively, Power BI Connector for Salesforce on AppExchange is an alternative:
Why it might fit:
- Installed inside your Salesforce org with its own Connected App - admin approves once at install, OAuth scopes managed in Salesforce instead of in Power BI Service credentials
- No need to maintain separate Power BI integration user credentials - access aligns with your existing Salesforce sharing model
- No 2,000-row limit on reports
- Supports custom fields, custom objects, and joined reports
- 30-day free trial
- Setup docs: https://metricasoftware.com/docs/salesforce/
- Responsive support if you get stuck: https://metricasoftware.com/docs/salesforce/contact-support/
Happy to set up a quick demo if it'd help. Just reach out via the support link.
Cheers,
Metrica Team.
