ERROR - CANNOT LOAD MODEL
Hi All,
I have checked Power BI status page and don't see any reported errors but since yesterday I cannot open/access 2 reports or refresh the dataset both the reports use. Both reports and the shared dataset is a Premium Workspace.
If I try to view the report I receive this message:
If I try to refresh the dataset I receive this message:
I have another report in the same workspace using a different dataset and different database connection which is absolutely fine.
The only changes made recently was adding myself to the PPU trial and changing the workspace to Premium Capacity and updating the dataset to a large dataset. I did this last week and after that I was able to view and refresh the report but since yesterday I cannot.
Any ideas?
Kind Regards
Rachel
Hi Siva,
I think I've solved it.
The workspace I was using before was an existing one that I upgraded to Premium once I initiated the PPU trial. This workspace already had reports/datasets stored there at the time which I update to large dataset storage format after the upgrade.
So this afternoon I created a new workspace, updated it to Premium first and then I was able to publish from Desktop into Service successfully. The size of the dataset is still over 1GB but seems to have done the trick.
Hopefully no more issues tomorrow and can accept this as resolved.
Kind Regards
Rachel

Have you tried to connect the Dataset in Power BI Desktop using the Power BI Datasets connector?
Thanks,

Hi Siva,
When I try that, I get a message: "The connect live option for this file is disabled because it already contains data from another data source. You cannot explore live data and connect to another type of datasource in the same file. Creat a new file to explore live data."
Yesterday I was unable to import the PBIX file back into Desktop, I was receiving error messages during the import process also but about 10mins ago, the import has worked.
I will try save, republish and delete the old ones from the workspace and see if that resolves the access & refresh issue in the Power BI Service of the new report/dataset.
Kind Regards
Rachel

You have to try it in a new report file without any other connections.

Additionally, The underlying views/tables are accessible in the database? did anything change happen at the database level?
