Empty date columns after web refresh

Hello,

I'm having an issue with 2 tables that are being filtered through a DIM Date table.

In desktop app and after first upload I get this:

So my DIM date filters the other tables.

After the refresh on the service, this is whats left:

When I try to explore the data on the web service, these columns appear to be empty.

Does anyone have a clue what's happening here?

Kind regards,

Nico

  • Hello Nico_Beckers ,

what I suggest to do so you could know why, is to download the service pbix and check it there.

      Hello,

It appears that both table have no data loaded from the SQL server they connect to. When I refresh the downloaded file on my desktop, everything refreshes properly...

      KR,

      Nico

Thank you Idrissshatila , your ideas is so great !

        Hi, Nico_Beckers

You mentioned downloading the PBIX file from Power BI Service, opening it in Power BI Desktop, refreshing it for you to be able to see the data. This means that in Power BI Service, you need to configure the gateway connection and refresh your semantic model.

You can follow the following tutorial to configure the gateway connection to SQL Server:

Manage a SQL Server data source - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

        To refresh the semantic model:

@Idrissshatila: Thanks, this made me look my subsequent power query steps. Turns out that filtering my dataset in powerquery on the desktop vs it filtering on the web service happens in a different way. Changed the filtering into 'text contains' instead of unchecking the boxes in the dropdown filter pane, and now it works perfectly.
