Dataset credentials update goes into infinite loading
I had made a report in Power BI desktop with db2 data source and published on Power BI Server. When i tried to refresh the data in the report or schedule auto refresh for the related dataset, it ask...
is this an on prem database? if so it will need a on premise gateway installed to access the data.

so gateway is mandatory to access data if you publish you app on power bi service?

if the data is sitting on prem yes. It is not always needed for cloud.
