I got the Dataflow Gen2 to start working.  Basically, I did a reboot.

1)  Export Dataflow Gen2 to a Power Query Template (.pqt) file

2) Downgrade to a Pro Workspace

3) Upgrade to a Fabric Trial
4) Create Lakehouse

5) Create Dataflow Gen2 using the Power Query Template (.pqt) file.
