Data Model with Jira?
Hello i have a question 🙂
I am not sure right now witch data Model (OLAP, In-Memory, Data Warehouse) Power BI use in my case.
The conection I use is a REST-API for the Jira data in my company.
The Jira instance data is stored in a database. Unfortunately I have not found any information on how Power Bi then saves the data here and works with it. The system works in my opinion similar to an in-memory system? Thank you for your answers
- Well, if you are importing the data into Power BI Desktop, then it is stored in an Analysis Services Tabular cube.
Well, the way this works is that data is persisted in an analysis services tabular cube. During analysis, this cube is loaded into memory and then analytical operations are run against the in-memory instance of the cube in order to make operations faster. http://nisalbi.blogspot.com/2017/11/vertipaq-engine-in-ssas-tabular-databse.html

Thanks for your help Greg_Deckler !
One more question. So in this case there is no IN-Memory Data storage? But it is still a Self-Service BI Tool or am I wrong?
Thanks again- Greg_DecklerCommunity Champion
