Create Power BI Dataflow using a Semantic Model
Hi adi38612
The answer is No, You can't create a Dataflow from a Semantic model. You can use Direct Query connection to AAS(Or Power BI service)
and then you pick your Table. But you want be able to edit the Table in power query.
Hi, I have the same query. I want to use the existing model but only need a higher aggregate and not all fields. What is the best way to connect and aggregate the data? Now I've ruled out the dataflow option I'm planning to direct query the model then use dax to summarise it, maybe "hiding" the original tables in the model? Is there anything I need to know before trying this? thanks for any advice. I found it hard to find any guildelines on this type of data requirement online.

Actually, another thought. Perhaps I don't need to aggregate it in my model. As it's a direct query is it just as good for me to just aggregate it in my report visuals. I'm not actually brining the raw data into my report right? Will powerbi do the work for me to keep my report efficient?
Coming from a SQL background I do have a tendency to overthink a PBI solution or not realise that a solution is actually super simple!
