Based on the Microsoft Learn documentation, the Copilot Narrative can summarize the entire report, specific pages, or specific visuals that you select. When creating the narrative, you can also include or exclude individual visuals or pages.
The documentation also states that the summary only takes into account the data that's visualized by the selected visuals and only the data that the visual selection editor allows.
If users apply slicers or filters, the narrative doesn't automatically update. Instead, users need to use the Refresh button on the narrative visual to generate an updated summary that reflects the current slicers and filters.

Sorry i am prempting as im not setup as yet, i did not know there's a refresh icon. I thought the "March 2026 Power BI update," auto refresh sorted this out?

Yes. According to the Power BI March 2026 Feature Summary, instead of clicking Refresh every time you select a slicer in a report with the AI Narrative visual, you can use the Auto refresh toggle in the Visualizations pane. Microsoft states that this "enables the summary to update automatically whenever a slicer selection changes," creating a smoother and more efficient reporting experience.

2 last ques, you mentioned previsously a refresh button, i think there a slcier reset botton? but is there a narratvive visual refresh button for users too?
