Combining data from multiple data sets onto one dashboard
Hi,
I have a dashboard that has a PWA (Project Online) tabular model as its source and multiple pages. We also have a sharepoint site for managing projects that are less than x number of hours that does not go through Project Online. I would like to create a report from the Sharepoint data that is another tabon the dashboard with Project Online Data. There is no link to the report numbers as different lists. Not all fields from PWA are on the sharepoint, so not common fields.
Is this possible? Can I create a different report and 'link/embed' it on a new page of the Project Online Dashboard? We have Power BI Pro.

Not a silly question. YOu are using the term "tabular model" and "dims" but in Power BI the term is dataset - the dataset is the combination of all the datasources. But, yes, mutliple facts and dims (datasources) that make up one model (dataset). Because you will probably add a DateDim and you might add something from an Excel file or some data from a different web source or whatever. Please mark this as a solution if it has helped!

If your goal is to present the data and not try to combine them this is not a problem. You could have all sorts of data SOURCES in your data SET. All you have to do is connect to your SharePoint site (use your get data and then select if it is SharePoint Online or Local) and then you can have multiple tabs with different reports.
Of course, if you are wanting to COMBINE the data into one single tab or report you will have to create your own key in Power BI or find some data bit that is the same in both data sources.
FYI - this is a common thing to do with Project Online since many orgnaizations have separate SharePoint olders for data that may or may not be linked to the Project Site in Project Online.
Thank you. So do i have one tabular model that has two 'fact's and distinct sets of dims? I apologize if this is s silly question.
