capacity refresh issue

For some reason, I am getting this error across the top of my published dashboard:

Was there a change made to the auto-refresh admin with the fabric update?

  • Hey Rank237 ,

this is about the change detection feature for DirectQuery in Power BI.
The data in the report will be refreshed, when a change to the dataset is recognized. It looks like the capacity admin disabled this feature for your capacity.

The section here should discribe the issue:

Automatic page refresh in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Get in contact with your capacity admin, that he will enable the feature again.

If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution βœ”οΈ and give it a thumbs up πŸ‘

    Best regards
    Denis

    Hi Rank237 ,

    1. Make sure the report is on the premium workspace and the administrator has enabled change detection for the attached capacity. For more information about configuring workloads in premium capacity, refer to the documentation: How to configure workloads in Power BI Premium - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.

    2. Make sure change detection is enabled for the page. Because this setting is set on a per-page basis, you need to ensure that this setting is enabled for each page in the report that you want to refresh.

    3. Please refresh or wait patiently for a while after changing the settings. It takes a certain amount of time for the setting changes to be propagated to the report.

Thank you I will take a look at that link. Do you know what I need to fix on the Admin side? I am the Admin.

    Hi Rank237 ,

    1. Check the work area. When publishing to a service, change detection is only supported in workspaces that are part of the premium capacity. LiveConnect sources such as Analysis Services and Power BI semantic models are not supported. For detailed information, please refer to the document: Automatic page refresh in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn.

    2. Check whether the auto-refresh function is enabled. Click the gear in the upper right corner of the service page->admin portal->premium per user.

For more information about capacity configuration, view the information in the capacity settings form.

If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

    Best Regards,

    Clara Gong

Thank you, Clara. However, I am still getting the same issue. I have changed the XMLA to read-only and read-write. But I am still getting the same error message across the top. This issue has also started to affect another dashboard.
