Button Slicer data not visible once published
Hello,
I have created a visual using Button Slicer, in desktop I can see the data, however once published all the data is transparent. This was working a month ago and now has stopped. Nothing has fundermentally changed other than a data refresh.
What I see in Desktop:
I have formatted the data to only show the lable data: The value is on, data is transparent. I only see the label data, this is not transparent.
Once published this is all I see:
I can still click in the sqaures and everything else on the page filters, however I do not see the values.
FYI: the slicer button is overlaying an image.
I have recreated this twice, getting the same issue.
Thank you for any help
Many thanks

Terri-AnnFoster,
Try clearing the browser cache or opening the dashboard in incognito mode. Sometimes browser cache create unwanted rendering issues. If possible, please do share a clean and unsensitive version of pbix here so that we can practically try and work on it.

Hii Terri-AnnFoster
Nothing is wrong with your data or formatting it’s a rendering bug that affects the Service only.
How to fix it:
-
Remove the background image (or send it behind all visuals).
-
Add a blank shape behind the slicer, or place it on the page background instead.
-
Republish the values will become visible again.
This is the same issue many users hit recently after a Service update; Desktop still renders correctly, but the Service does not when the slicer overlays an image.

Thank you for replying rohit1991
I have added the image to the background (we really need this visable) then added a shapeNo data is visable on publishing. I removed the shape and also tested this way, this didnt work.
Anything else I can test before waiting on a fix?
Thank you- Anand24

Hi Terri-AnnFoster,
What version of Power BI Desktop are you using?
If it is not November 2025, consider upgrading and trying again with the newer version.
