Helper IIAzure sql connction error
You are right, the database is in the cloud, but as you can see the database is not generally available to the public. So you need to provide Power BI a way to get into the network / retrieve a IP-address that is allowed by the database for access. A gateway will help you do this 🙂
Most Valuable ProfessionalHm... You should be able to use your credentials in Power BI. Could it be that your IP is whitelisted in the Azure SQL Database which is why you are able to connect from PBI Desktop, but not the service?
Helper IIok ..you are correct 🙂 our office IP (statcis) was whitelisted by the DB provider
What I should ask them to do to get my report to refresh on the service

sorry for this (many questions) :)...but I use gateway for other sources but this one is cloud-based , thought we don't need a gateway ? is it possible to connect via gateway ?
