Allow Users to do Manual Refresh

It's becoming pretty clear to me that scheduled refresh is not going to be a good option for us. We have a beast of a SQL server but scheduling 36 data refreshes is putting it on its knees. Too many bugs in the Data Gateway.

My question is simply this - shouldn't I be able to disable the scheduled refresh (already done) and allow the user of the report / dataset to trigger a refresh manually, when they are viewing their report? If so, how is that done?

  • I'm trying to do the same thing, but after setting up a Microsoft flow and attaching the URL to a button on a Power BI report, it seems that we would need to purchase Flow Automate licenses for any user who wants to be able to click that button.
