Sybase IQ JDBC Driver

Hi,

I have noticed there is no JDBC Driver enlisted on the supported connection types.

I want to connect to a Sybase IQ Database and want to know if this is possible via a JDBC Driver.

Thank you!

    Hi cosminfuiorea,

Do you want to connect to Sybase IQ database from Power BI Desktop? If that is the case, based on my research, you can install SAP SQL Anywhere driver on your computer, make sure that the driver you install matches your Power BI Desktop installation (32-bit or 64-bit).  Then connect to Sybase IQ database using the entry shown in the following screenshot.

Another method is to create a ODBC data source for your Sybase IQ database following the instructions in the article , then connect to the ODBC data source via ODBC entry in Power BI Desktop.

    Thanks,

Hi Lydia, Thank you for the quick reply, it is very clear now. Another thing if I may. I am planning to build a dashboard using On Premises Gateway and DirectQuery to my SQL Server Database. This Dashboard will reside in an SSRS environment. Will all the people that access it need a Power BI Pro account in order to view the data? Thank you for your help! Cosmin
