Odata feed to powerbi with header using basic auth
- 3 years ago
This is related to my other question on the Desktop forum so I'll paste the link here: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Desktop/Can-t-connect-to-SAP-Odata-Feed-in-Power-BI/m-p/3458773
TLDR: I made the credentials anonymous and pass authorizations ("Basic " and credentials) and client as a header.
Hi crln-blue,
You can pass the SAP client in the second argument of OData.Feed:
OData.Feed(url, [#"sap-client" = "310"])
Use Basic authentication in Power BI instead of storing the Authorization header in M code.
For supported SAP S/4HANA environments, Power BI Connector for SAP can centralize SAP authentication and sap-client through a BTP Destination: https://www.sap.com/products/data-cloud/partners/metrica-software-inc-power-bi-connector-for-sap.html
A 30-day free trial is available.
