Excel - Power Query
Hi Everyone!
My date column has values in the format of mm/dd/yyyy and are recognised as text. The issue is that I am unable to convert them to the date type. Each time I try, it throws an error. I have tried through the date formats given already in power query. I have tried the Date.FromText formula as well and to no avail.
Is there anything that I'm missing? Please help!
Thanks in advance!
Hi Anonymous_, check this:
BeforeAfter
let Source = #table(null, {{"05/25/2025"}}), ConvertedToDate = Table.TransformColumns(Source, {{"Column1", each Date.FromText(_, [Culture="en-US"]), type date}}) in ConvertedToDate

Probably you are missing the culture argument.
Try
TransformDate = Table.TransformColumnTypes(Source,{{"date", type date}}, "en-US")or right-click the column and select
Change Type => Using Locale => and select Date and English-United States
