Implementing a "Refresh" Button/image in Power BI Mobile Canvas for DirectQuery Refresh

I would like to implement a feature where clicking on an image or button labeled "Refresh" triggers a DirectQuery refresh, updating all visuals within the Power BI Mobile UI. Is this functionality achievable? And I know, there is Page refresh and manual refresh to click on 3 dots on the UI and refresh visuals. But we want to add it on app canvas.

  • Hi BhavaniK ,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.

As of now, Power BI does not support triggering a DirectQuery refresh directly from a custom button or image on the report canvas - especially for Power BI Mobile.

Currently, the only supported methods are:

    • Pull-to-refresh on mobile
    • Using the three-dot menu to refresh visuals manually
    • Scheduled or automatic page refresh (in Power BI Service)

I recommend submitting your detailed feedback and ideas through Microsoft's official feedback channels, such as the Fabric Ideas - Microsoft Fabric Community

If this post helps, then please consider Accepting as solution to help the other members find it more quickly, don't forget to give a "Kudos" – I’d truly appreciate it!

    Thank you.
