Wrong Data in Time Zone calculation

CreatedDate Reported

Hi,

I have subtracted the two cloumn value which is Timezone formatted.Value as given below

Scenario 1

Custom=[#"Created (UTC)"]-[#"Date Reported (UTC)"]

Created (UTC)=10/30/2018 12:37:36 PM +00:00

Date Reported (UTC)=10/30/2018 12:35:00 PM -07:00

As a result I got, Custom=-06:57:24.

Scenario 2

Custom1=[Created]-[Date Reported]

[Created]=10/30/2018 12:37:36 PM +00:00

[Date Reported]=10/30/2018 7:35:00 PM +00:00

Aa result a I got, Custom1= -06:57:24

In Scenario 1 there should be only 2 minute difference in time gap then why getting such result. Also in Scenario 2 there is 5:02:36 hrs time difference but get the same result. Can any one help me to figure out this accurate calculation? What is the solution to get actual time data?

  • Hi Pallab_Kundu,

    For the first issue, based on my test, I suggest you create a calculated column in data view instead in query editor:

    For the second issue, I think the right answer shoud be 06:57:24? I think if the [Date Reported]=10/30/2018 7:35:00 AM +00:00, it could be 5:02:36, right?

    Regards,
