Web API data source - unable to bind parameter to field for slicer
I see from the forum that a query must be a direct query in order to bind a parameter to a slicer. In my case I'm using a set of Web API queries to retrieve data. There doesn't seem to be an option ...

As you describe, Power BI does not natively support setting Web API queries to DirectQuery. DirectQuery is typically used for relational databases and some specific data sources.
It may require you to switch connection modes and try again.
