Using Copilot with Power BI, Insanity!
Ok,
I am trying to use Copilot with Power BI, and I have read about the capacity requirements. Clearly documented in this post
Solved: Enable/use Copilot with Power BI - Microsoft Fabric Community
But what I am trying to figure out, is why as someone who is building a report, transforming some data and want to ask some questions about how to do things, or trouble with DAX, why do I have to pay thousands of dollars for Power Bi or Fabric capacity?
I would get it if I am publishing a report, and want people to use Copilot to ask questions about the data. But as someone who has a copilot license and a Power BI Premium license, this just seems insane.
If someone could help me understand that would be great!
mike_dumka Copilot in Power BI requires paid capacity (Power BI Premium P1+ or Fabric F2+ or a Fabric “Copilot” capacity) because Copilot’s LLM calls consume significant compute and billable AI credits, so Microsoft routes that usage through capacity for performance, governance and billing.

Thanks Amar_Kumar ... So you are telling me that my Power BI Premium license, is different than a Power BI Premium P1 license? If so ... man Microsoft needs to learn to communicate better. This is a nightmare.
