Underlying Data Export not applying filters

Hello everyone,

For some reason, the data export obtained through the "Export Underlying Data" functionality is not applying the filters selected by the user in the report, and I cannot seem to figure out why. Hopefully you can help me with this!

My data model contains the following tables:

*Note that the relationship between the Customer and Items tables must be inactive, as it would otherwise yield ambiguity due to other relationships. I have created a measure "ItemCount" in the "Items" table that counts the items belonging to the selected customer using USERELATIONSHIP().

In the report, the user can select a Customer Name and see all Items owned by that customer, along with some additonal item information. However, this information is only available for some items, meaning that the Description will sometimes be empty. Here is an example of what the resulting table in the report looks like when Customer A is selected:

Note that the description of Item B is missing because there is no corresponding Item ID in the "Additional Item Info" table.
Also note that I have added the measure "ItemCount" to the filters of that table, specifying that only those records should be displayed where the value is 1 (which indicates that the item belongs to the selected customer).

Now, when clicking on "Underlying Data" when exporting the data from the table visual in the report, I would expect to see the following information in the Excel extract:

However, what I get is this:

As you can see, there are 3 issues with the exported data:

1. It ignores the "Customer" filter (Customer B is also included although not selected)

2. It only includes those items that actually have a matching ID in the "Additional Item Info" table (Item B is not included)

3. It does not include additional columns from the Customer and Items tables

Does anyone know why this is happening, and what I could do this to get to the desired extract?

I hope my explanation is somewhat clear - if not, please let me know and I would be happy to provide more information.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Inès

    Hi inesj ,

    、

    Are you using the Name field in the Custome table as a filter? What does it mean that it doesn't include the other columns in the "customer" and "item" tables, in the last screenshot it seems that only the address field in the custom table is missing.

    Can you provide the relevant test data, so that I can answer for you as soon as possible. Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards,
    Henry

  • +1 to this issue

    I have the following scenario:
    All pages filter with Country = 'Brazil'

    Upon exporting underlying data of the following measure:

    Comp. Rate = FORMAT(
    DIVIDE(
        CALCULATE(
            AVERAGE('Bonus'[Compa-Ratio]),'Bonus'[PDP Rating] = "Exceptional"
        ),
        CALCULATE(
            AVERAGE('Bonus'[Compa-Ratio]),'Bonus'[PDP Rating] <> "Exceptional"
        )
    ), "0.00")

    Instead of showing me the data related to Brazil that made the measure, it shows me data of all countries instead.

    Note: With the page filter it works, when I'm using all pages filter it doesn't.
