UK Shape Map - region or local authority
Hi,
Ive tried numerous times to find a suitable shape map for the UK. I would like it split by region and one also by local authority (region would be a fine starting point).
Any of the files ive downloaded (GeoJson, TopoJson etc.) do not work correctly and the map has loads of random lines meeting at one point (picture below).
Any ideas?

Hi Liang,
I've found a solution to the problem here: https://dataveld.com/2016/09/01/overcoming-potential-power-bi-shape-map-rendering-issues/
It's something that needs putting into the mapping software, I used QGIS and saved the file slightly differently to how I usually would then converted it in mapshaper.
Cheers,
Tanya

Hi,
I've tried that but it doesn't seem to work with the regional shape file when it is put into PBI, it creates the map but has loads of extra lines (as shown on the original post).
Cheers

Hi Anonymous ,When working with countries or regions, use the three-letter abbreviation to ensure that geocoding works properly in map visualizations. Do not use two-letter abbreviations, as some countries or regions may not be properly recognized. If you only have two-letter abbreviations, you can refer to the blog:If the problem persists, can you provide a sample pbix file?(Please mask any sensitive data before uploading)Best Regards,
Liang
