Timeout limit for Web- DataSource.Error: This function doesn't support the query option 'Timeout'

Hi,

i have beeen facing timeout error when connecting to web data source (rather small data size, about 2000 rows x 15 columns). When i have reduced the rows to about 100, then it worked.

I have followed the suggestions to increase the timeout limit, using the code

Source = Web.BrowserContents("https://.....",[Timeout=#duration(0,0,15,0)]),

But facing following error:

DataSource.Error: Web.BrowserContents: This function doesn't support the query option 'Timeout' with value '#duration(0, 0, 15, 0)'.
Details:
0.00:15:00

Any suggestion how to overcome this error or some other suggestion how to increase the timeout limit are really appreciated.

Side question: what is the general limitaion in terms of size (MB) or nubmer of rows/colums for web data source?

Many Thanks, František

  • Hi, Anonymous

    Did you follow the suggestion in this case to set the timeout for the web data source?

    According to my research, it seems that the error occurs in your “Web.BrowserContents” function because the solution, in that case, uses the “Web.Page” and “Web.content” to link to the web data source, you can also change the M code in your advanced editor to follow the solution and check if it can work.

    More info about these three accessing web data function in M language:

    Web.BrowserContents

    Web.Contents

    Web.Page
