Time intelligence does not work

Hi Team,

wanted a help in power BI viusalisation.. i have been stuck on something from last two weeks and it's impacting how leadership team view our dataset.

 

Cut-short, I want my graphs to read the x axis as: "JQ"--(representing Quarter ending June month), MQ(representing Quarter ending June month), SQ(representing Quarter ending September), DQ(representing Quarter ending December) and so on enabling a user to DRILL DOWN the data and also an option of "See Records". I somehow made it possible but then i couldn't see the records and drill down only to one level.(Maybe because Natural querry language couldn't get the "JQ", "MQ", "SQ", "DQ"

 

Can we make it possible through Measures or editing timeline intelligence functions??

 

Note:* Alteration are only supposed to be done in Visualisation options and not in the data from backend.

    Hi amangathania

     

    Not sure how are you trying to do this.

     

    Assuming you have data at year level in your visual and you want to drill down to Quarter level? Have you tried to pull your customized Quarter object to the Axis below to Year and then tried to drill down?

     

    If you are looking for more , please share more details . Share the snapshot of visuals and fields pane.

      Let me explain that over again:

       

      Currently i have x axis as: 2016 Q2, 2016 Q3, and so on till 2018 Q3..i want that to be JQ16, SQ16, DQ16. However, when i do that i am not able to drill down further more than 1 step and also not able to see "SEE RECORDS" option.

       

      That's because JQ16, SQ16, DQ16 and so on... disables the natural querry for timeline intelligence.

       

      I need a quick fix.. fix that could keep my time intelligence running and enabling a user to drill down the data from YEAR to QUARTER to MONTHS and DAYS and also "SEE RECORDS" option.

       

      Looking for a response.

        Hi amangathania,

         

        If you want enable drill down between your custom columns, from YEAR to QUARTER to MONTHS and DAYS, you can create custom category hierarchy.

         

        Timeline intelligence only works for date/time, your custom column JQ16, SQ16, DQ16 is formated as Text. So, you cann't use timeline intelligence based on this column.

         

        Please check whether you hit the limitations to "See Records".
