"This file cannot be opened because of errors." Pasting into Excel

Hello everyone.

Has anyone come across / resolved this problem before?
I'm trying to paste a table copied from Power BI Table View [aka Data View] into Excel. It has worked many times a day for months and months, but suddenly today I'm getting this error. What's wrong and how do I fix it?
"This file cannot be opened because of errors. Errors are listed in:
C:\Users\My.Name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\NetCache\Content.
MSO\12345678.log."

    Thanks for your reply. As it happens, I am running the last version of PowerBI (and have been for a while) and so I'm not sure it is that. Unfortunately I can't figure out where my NetCache folder is (it's not in 
    C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\Cache
    nor 
    %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftPowerBIDesktop_<randomstring>\LocalCache\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\)  so I can't check by clearing the cache and seeing if that sorts it. 

     

    However, I also noticed that if I changed my DateTime column so it was't in "2025-11-03T08:07:55" format then it pastes just fine, so I guess it's just this dateTime format it doesn't like. And as it happens I can still paste using Ctrl+Shift+V (which is not always ideal).

    Hi Coriel-11 

    This error comes from a recent Power BI update that broke the Copy Table function.

    The clipboard content is corrupted, so Excel rejects it.

     

    To fix the issue update Power BI Desktop, clear the NetCache folder, or use a workaround like pasting into Notepad before Excel otherwise export the table to CSV instead of copy‑paste.

    Oi, tudo bem?

    Obrigado por compartilhar o topico.
    Li sua descricao e tambem a resposta do colega acima, e faz sentido que o problema esteja relacionado a atualizacoes recentes do Power BI que afetaram a funcao de Copiar Tabela.

    Ja vi situacoes parecidas em que o conteudo da area de transferencia fica corrompido e o Excel rejeita ao tentar abrir.
    Uma alternativa simples que funcionou comigo foi colar primeiro o conteudo em um editor de texto, como o Bloco de Notas, e so depois copiar novamente para o Excel.
    Isso remove qualquer formato oculto que possa estar causando o erro de estilo.

    Outra solucao e exportar a tabela como CSV, caso precise de algo mais estavel enquanto aguarda a correcao da funcao oficial.

    Vou acompanhar o topico para ver se ha novas informacoes. Espero que consiga resolver.

      Obrigado pela sua resposta. Agradeço muito. Estou usando a versão mais recente do Power BI (e já faz um tempo), então não acho que esse seja o problema. Percebi depois que, se eu alterar o formato da minha coluna de data e hora para que não esteja mais em "2025-11-03T08:07:55", a colagem funciona perfeitamente. Então, imagino que seja apenas esse formato de data e hora que o programa não aceita. E, por acaso, ainda consigo colar no Excel usando Ctrl+Shift+V (o que nem sempre é o ideal), o que é um pouco menos trabalhoso do que usar o Bloco de Notas, principalmente agora que o novo Bloco de Notas do Co-pilot não é tão amigável para colar quanto era antes.
