text yyyy/yy to date

Hi all

 

i've spent over 2hrs trying to solve this with no joy.

 

Simply, i have finaical years formated as text "2022/23", which i need to change to date format "YYYY/YY" so i can make running totals and use them in charts.

 

At present power bi is seeing my years as text so my filters are acting strange

    dantheram ,

    You have to use YEAR column (eg:2022) in your calculation so that it will help you to achieve your requirement. I don't think that above format would help. Adding that above text format can not be changed to date data type.

    Hi,

    you could create two separate columns and put those as a format as you wish, then create your measure(s) based on the both columns
