Hello all! On Power BI Desktop, I built a report where the data source is a MS-SQL Server. Clearly, the credentials are stored. What I would like to understand is where the credentials are stored...
The credentials are stored on your local PC and are not shared when you share the PBIX file. If a new user tries to refresh the data, they would get prompted to enter credentials. To share your report and have it auto-refresh, you would need to publish it, set up a Gateway to store the credentials securely, and set up scheduled refresh.

Go to Files>Options and Settings>Data Sourcing Settings and clear the credentials. You can edit your credentials there as well.
