Slicer Text wrap

I am using regular default slicer visual in power BI. Even though text wrap is turned on i could see that my values are completly not visible. I even tried list and button slicer as well. Nothing works for me. I appreciate help here. Please refer the below image.

  • Unfortunatley the slicer does not support word wrap on slicer items, some options:

    1. You could increase the lenght of the slicer

    2. Create a measure to summarize the information in the field and use that in the slicer

    3. Potentially use a custom slicer visual to achieve this

  • Hey, text wrap on a slicer only does half the job. It allows wrapping, but the row itself doesn't auto-grow tall enough to show the wrapped lines unless a few other things line up.
    Try these in order:

    1. Increase the slicer's height, not just width. Each value row has to physically have room for 2+ lines. If the visual is short, wrapped text gets clipped. Stretch the visual taller first and see if the hidden text appears.

    2. Reduce font size in Values. Format visual  -> Values -> Font size. Drop it to 9 or 10 pt. Large fonts (12+) often cause the row to clip even with wrap on.

    3. Reduce padding. Format visual -> Values -> Padding. Set top/bottom padding to 0 or 1. This is the #1 silent killer, padding eats the vertical space wrap needs.

Give those a try and let me know how it goes. I wonder if any of those will help.

If this helped, a thumbs up and accepting the solution would be appreciated.

      Hi Shai_Karmani ,

Thanks for your response. Tried the above mentioned steps but still same and font is also reduced to 8.

  • Maybe the best option for now is to enable the tooltip, so at least users can hover and see the remaining text before clicking. However, if it’s a long list, that’s still going to be painful. I would suggest creating a new column and including some short identifier code infront, for example: (XXX) Survey Department & R.., to help identify the selection more easily.

Also, you can upvote this idea so the Power BI dev team may give more attention to this requirement: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Fabric-Ideas/Word-Wrap-in-Slicer/idi-p/4448179
