single visual - dual tooltip(default & Report page)
This is my visual and tooltip screen . these two working perfectly. in addition to this, I have a requirement of showing default tooltip screen also. is there any possible way to show this default tooltip .
In Power BI, a single visual cannot show both the Report-page tooltip and the default (built-in) tooltip at the same time.
Power BI allows only one tooltip type per visual — either:1.Default Tooltip (auto-generated by Power BI).
2. Custom / Report Page Tooltip
Once a Report Page is assigned.
You can do two things:
ONE:
Add the default tooltip fields manually into your report-page tooltip
You can re-create the default tooltip by manually adding:
Axis value
Legend
Data point value
Additional fields
This gives the same effect as the default tooltip while keeping your custom layout.
TWO:
Use Power BI “Smart Tooltip” patterns
You can build a toggle inside your tooltip page:
Example:
Button: Show Default Tooltip
Button: Show Custom Tooltip
Use bookmarks to flip between two tooltip layouts.
This is the closest to “dual tooltip” behavior.

I agree with the explanation 123abc shared. In Power BI, a single visual can only use one tooltip type at a time. Once you assign a Report page tooltip, the default built in tooltip is automatically replaced. This is the current product behavior, and Power BI does not support showing both tooltips together on the same visual.
