Sharepoint file - Automatic Refresh not working

Hi all,

 

I developed a report based on an Excel file from Sharepoint (connector "Web"). I was expecting my data to refresh automatically (like a DirectQuery source) but for some reason it is not. I setup my credentials and the report only refreshes if I enable the schedule refresh option.

 

Any ideia why this is happening? Shouldn't my data be refreshing hourly since my excel is in Sharepoint Online? Should I use a different connector than "Web"?

    That is the default behavior and would be the same if you used the SharePoint Folder connector too.  Scheduled Refresh is the way to go.  Another option would be to make a Flow with Power Automate to trigger dataset refresh whenever a file is added or modified to that SharePoint library.  If there are multiple per hour, I would not recommend that as you will run out of daily refreshes.
