September Update - Issue with Line Chart

After this recent September update I've noticed that my Line Chart visuals have changed and now the user has to scroll left to right, previously it would all fit within the size of the visual. 

I've noticed that when I go to Format the Visual and specifically the X-Axis the "Type" is no longer an option. Anyone else running into a similar issue? Any ideas on how to fix this? I don't want the user to have to scroll left and right on the visual when they originally did not have to.

    Hi Anonymous ,

    I used the september vision to test.

    When the visual is big enogh to display all the X-axis, there isn't a scroll bar.

    When I shrink the visual, the X-axis is too narrow to display all the values, a scroll bar sppears, it's the same as before.

    After change the X-axis type to continuous, the scroll bar disappear again.

    Thanks, the problem is I don't have the field for "Type" in the X-axis options, it disappeared.

      Hi Anonymous ,

      Seems not a common issue as of now. There are some requirements to use this feature. If the X-axis is string/Boolean, the Type option will not display. It should be number or date data type.         I found that if I change the X-Axis to Date instead of the Date Hierarchy, the "Type" selection does appear again in the formatting section and allows me to change the type back to Continuous. 

         

        I should note I am using a full Date Table to as input of the X-Axis not a Fact table that could be missing dates. 

         

         

        Previously the visual would allow me to select Continuous and use the Date Hiearchy and drill down to Year > Month. The visual was beautiful and showed our Monthly Avg Days to Pay without the user having to scroll left to right.

         

        Unfortunately, now my only options are to have it at the Date (and not Date Hierarchy) which means its our Avg Days to pay every single day and have the ability to select Continuous in the Type and the user won't have to scroll left and right, or change it to Date Hierarchy and have the visual at the Year/Month level but the user then has to scroll left and right. 

        No more scroll bar left to right but now each day is represented and doesn't look smooth. 


        In my opinion this was a poor update to the visual.
