Representing chronogram using ribbon chart
Hi everyone,
I am trying to create a power BI to visualize states of equipment in a production system (production, failure, ... ).
I found a solution with ribbon chart that provide a good visual, but a I have some limitation (not really familiar with this kind of chart but not sure it is supose to be used like this). At the moment, this is the best way i found to get this visual, where some visual a download do not manage well the datetime format i need.
So here is an example :
On the upper side, here is the chronogramme for 1 machine, which works well as long as i apply the filter for 1 machine.
On the lower side, i try to use small multiple, that could help to show graphs for different machines at the same time, but it create many blank space and the graph become unreadable.
The main question is : Is it possible to use the small multiple function but having a display similar to the upper graph ?
A second question less important : Is it possible to manage the data show in the white dialog box to only display the date and the state for exmple ?
Here is the data i used, where there is two line for each period first for the beginnig, and second for the end.
The graph is parameters as follow :
X Axis : "Datetime"
Y Axis : Number of "State"
Legend : "State"
I someone have an idea 🙂 or any other way that give a similare resultat

What's the point of a ribbon chart when there is only one bar?

As i said, it is not the common use of this graph, but it's a solution i find that give a good visualisation for my dashboard.

To precise the outcome i except, i cannot show example on the power BI, as it is my problem.
But the result would be :
On the lower graph, i would have the visualisation as shown on the upper graph, but for each multiple without the blank space.

Use Distinct Count and make sure that no two equipments have a matching timestamp.

Sorry for the delay,I did some test and found something better, which correspond better (not perfect but good ahah)
In fact the post bellow inspiring me where you said "no two equipments have a matching timestamp", i finally did the inverse, where all time existes for all equipements.
The new issues is now the data, i did manually a small example, but i may have many equipement, and longer period for data, which will multiple the data.
I will search a way to transform the data.
