24 days agoHi yyjp ,
Your proposed approach using DirectQuery with a 1-second refresh interval in a Power BI Pro workspace may have the following limitations:
- Refresh interval: A 1-second automatic page refresh requires dedicated capacity; it is not supported in shared Pro capacity.
- Dashboard tiles: Pinned dashboard tiles do not necessarily refresh every second, even when the report page uses automatic page refresh.
- Performance: Frequent DirectQuery requests can increase the load on the data source and Fabric capacity, potentially affecting performance.
- Cross-tenant sharing: External users must have the appropriate guest access, permissions, and licensing to view the report.
- Data freshness: A 1-second configured interval does not guarantee that updated data will appear every second.
Recommendation: Validate the refresh behavior on both the report page and dashboard tiles, and test cross-tenant access before deploying the solution. If near-real-time updates are required, use an appropriate dedicated capacity and monitor its performance.
Thanks,
Chaithanya
