R Visualizations
Hello All,
Does anyone know when using an R Visualization in a content pack or shared power bi reports if it requries the subsequent users to install R on their computers to access the image or if the image is not visible (in other words, are they similar to custom visualizations in shared content packs)? The R visuals preview feature documentation says that R visuals can be uploaded to Power BI service, but they are static images that do not interact with the service. However, rendering the images requires the R script (as Power BI desktop uses the R application from the computer that's generating it).
Here is a dicussion about a simmilar topic with custom visualizations and content packs for clarification.

I was able to confirm this uncategorically. I created an R visualization and published it to the Service. I then went to another computer that has no R installed and could bring up the report and see the visualizations. The visualizations with a yellow ! warning that "Script visuals are not refreshed. Click to learn more."

I am testing this but my understanding is that once R visualizations are in the service, they are static images and do not require R installed to view them in a report or dashboard in the Service. The original rendering of them does require R.
Thanks - I thought that might be the case. Unfortunately, I don't have an easy to test that where I am.
