    Hi Anonymous ,

Yes I know but there is an alternative to sort by columns in matrix but it comes with a drawback.

  • Anonymous , In Power BI, you can sort a matrix visual by clicking on the column headers directly within the visual. This feature is built into Power BI and does not require any additional DAX or techniques. Here’s how you can do it:

Sorting a Matrix Visual by Column Headers
Create or Open Your Matrix Visual:

Ensure you have a matrix visual in your Power BI report with the necessary fields added to the rows, columns, and values.
    Click on the Column Header:

Simply click on the header of the column you want to sort by. For example, if you want to sort by "Impressions," click on the "Impressions" column header.
Clicking once will sort the column in ascending order.
Clicking again will sort the column in descending order.
Clicking a third time will remove the sort.

      Hi bhanu_gautam ,
Thx for your help. Can u show it practically because matrix doesnt support sorting by just clicking on column header. We can achieve sorting by clicking on Row fields not on Column fields. Above I have shared screenshot when I clicked Impression column.

        Hi Anonymous ,

I think your understanding is perfectly fine, in matrix you can only click sort by to select.

Other than that, there is no other way to sort on specific columns, you can check this topic for more information: Solved: Reorder columns for Matrix visualization (with sor... - Microsoft Fabric Community
