Q&A

Hi, I have Power BI Desktop (October 2020) and an on premises Report Server.  I am trying to create a dashboard/report but can not see a Q&A visualisation or a Q&A button.  I can't see anything in t...

    Hi as1 ,

     

    I don't think I can answer this question as haven't got any experience working with Power BI report Server. But currently, it is not supported for sure.

Hi as1 ,

 

I just saw that you are working on October 2020 Power BI Desktop. Can you upgrade it to the latest one please?

Q&A visual is now freely available and I can see it at my end and I am working on latest May 2021 Power BI Desktop version.

    Hi Pragati

    We upgraded it recently to the March 2021 update.  Although it says October 2020, it is a March 2021 upgrade which was meant to remove bugs.  That is latest version when using the October 2020 Power BI Report Server

      If you update Power BI Desktop, it shows the right version.

       

      What happens when you double click on an empty space on your report page in Power BI Desktop? Do you end up with the following blue window?

       

      If not then can you try doing this. click on 3 dots under visualaisations and select Restore default visuals:

      You should now be able to see QA visual.

        Sorry Pragati.  This is the version we have:

        If I double click on the blank canvas, nothing happens.

        If I restore the default visuals nothing happens.

        I don't think I have seen the Q&A for quite a while.  I may not have seen it at all since we downloaded the October 2020 version and maybe the version before that.
